Possibly The Biggest Science Movie Month In Ages Starts Tomorrow

I posted about these three films back in August, but the trio of Interstellar, The Theory of Everything, and The Imitation Game are coming to theaters starting tomorrow.  While Interstellar has received the biggest publicity push, the other films come to theaters with strong notices from film festivals.

Interstellar comes out first.  The latest from director Christopher Nolan, the film focuses on how the people of Earth, faced with an unspecified environmental catastrophe, have to find a new planet.  Initial publicity has suggested that both environmental issues and historical denial play into the plot.  Physicist Kip Thorne was a technical adviser on the film, which uses wormholes to look for planets to colonize.

The Theory of Everything, a biopic of Stephen Hawking’s early life and career, premieres in the U.S. on Friday.  The Imitation Game, about computer scientists Alan Turing, premieres on November 28 – the day after Thanksgiving.

Maybe I don’t go to enough movies, but to have three science-themed films from major studios released within weeks of each other deserves some extra notice.
