While Hidden Figures didn’t win at last night’s Academy Awards, Katherine Johnson (played by Taraji P. Henson in the film) joined the lead actresses on stage during the cermony.
In other science and technology television news, MythBusters: The Search concluded, announcing two new MythBusters but nothing yet about when we might see them busting myths on The Science Channel.
But on to the listings…as thin as they appear to be.
Octavia Spencer may be officially promoting a new film, but I have to think Hidden Figures will still be top of mind when she appears on Thursday’s edition of The Tonight Show and on Friday’s edition of Live with Kelly.
As best as I can tell, Ms. Spencer is the first and last this week for science and technology related guest content. It’s possible that Conan O’Brien might have something in his Mexico special, which airs in prime time on Wednesday. In his foreign programs Conan often features some local manufacturer or technological concern, but there are no guarantees.
I will close with a segment from Stephen Colbert’s Friday program, where he visited NASA to ‘participate’ in astronaut training. The segment was connected to the Boeing Dreamliner capsule, and parts of it are probably not safe for children.
Perhaps Stephen (or Elon Musk) will use this segment to generate a similar opportunity with the SpaceX Dragon capsule rated for crew.
