While it is common for late night shows to take at least a week off in August, I suspect that the Olympics are pushing many of them to extend those vacations. Of course, The Tonight Show and Late Night are pre-empted this week (and likely next week), as their network airs Olympics content in the U.S. Expect a lot of repeats until the 22nd.
Repeats of note are as follows. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak’s recent appearance on Conan is on tonight (Monday). Neil deGrasse Tyson’s latest appearance on The Late Show airs again on Tuesday.
In new programs, Simon Helberg is busy promoting his film Florence Foster Jenkins. He does not play an engineer in that film, like he does on The Big Bang Theory. But he was on The View today (Monday), and will join his co-star Hugh Grant on Watch What Happens Live Thursday night. You stand a better chance of hearing him talk about The Big Bang Theory on Friday, when The Talk repeats his May appearance where he also was a co-host. His Big Bang costar Jim Parsons co-hosted today’s (Monday’s) edition of Live with Kelly.
