In what might be the marketing equivalent of preaching to the choir, Neil deGrasse Tyson continues the promotion of the new television season of StarTalk with an appearance this weekend on NPR’s news quiz program, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! Depending on your area, the program is broadcast Saturday and/or Sunday, so you may be able to listen to it on your radio.
As is customary on this show, the featured guest answers questions about something that is usually very different from their area of expertise. In this case Tyson was asked about cosmetology. You can listen to that segment (or just read the transcript) online.
The new season of StarTalk premieres in the U.S. on The National Geographic Channel Sunday night, October 25. The format remains the same, with a scientist and a comedian in studio, and a featured guest through clips from pre-taped interview. Tomorrow’s featured guest is former President Bill Clinton. Frequent StarTalk (radio and television) co-host Chuck Nice and venture capitalist Juan Enriquez join Tyson in studio. Enriquez breaks from the usual format, though he has researched and wrote extensively on the economic and political impacts of the life sciences.
