David Letterman had a number of science and technology guests on his late night programs. He brought on current Presidential science adviser John Holdren three times (twice during Holdren’s tenure as science adviser).
If there is a theme to the science and technology guests Letterman had on his shows, it could be climate change. It’s a topic that has fascinated the former late night host for years, to the point that it will be the focus of his next television gig.
Letterman will be one of the guests on the documentary series Years of Living Dangerously. Its second season will air in the U.S. on the National Geographic Channel, and Letterman’s episode will involve him traveling to India and exploring the country’s energy needs. He will make the trip sometime next year, and meet with the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The second season of Years of Living Dangerously will premiere in late 2016.
