Well, the dog days of August continue with respect to science and technology guests. For at least the next two weeks, The Daily Show will run recent repeats. So if you missed the recent discussion with Doris Kearns Goodwin that touched on the impact of e-mail on the historical record, you can catch it again Tuesday night.
Very little in the way of new stuff this week. The Talk‘s technology correspondent, Chi-Lan Lieu, will be on the show Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Alicia Vikander will be on The Tonight Show Thursday night, but the discussion will likely be on her new film, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. rather than her turn as an android in Ex Machina.
At least there continue to be new episodes of MythBusters in the U.S. And on Wednesday the Travel Channel will premiere a new series with MythBusters alumni Kari Byron and Tory Belleci. I mention the show, Thrill Ride, because its focus is a scientific perspective on big amusement park rides, both in terms of the physics of the rides and the psychology of the riders. There are 10 episodes in the can, and presumably good ratings on this run will influence whether there will be more episodes.
