The first week of The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore did not have any science or technology content of note. It is, however, just the first week. Unfortunately, it will be hard to tell in advance when the show engages with a science or technology matter. As of now, guest information is scarce. Perhaps that will change in the future. Meanwhile, if I see anything worth noting – after the fact – I will post it here.
The Late Late Show continues its guest hosting run before James Corden takes over in March. Alan Alda is scheduled for tonight’s (Monday’s) program, guest hosted by Regis Philbin. Alda’s science work, including the latest Flame Challenge, may or may not come up. On Tuesday Eddie Redmayne continues his award circuit promotion on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Redmayne just won a Screen Actors Guild Award for his work as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, and he may have more hardware to pick up over the next few weeks.
As is sometimes the case, the actors playing scientists on The Big Bang Theory will be on the late night programs. Thursday you can see Simon Helberg on with Conan, and Mayim Bialik visits with David Letterman.
