COSMOS continues, with episode two premiering in the United States last night (per my Twitter feed, it appears that the U.K. gets the episodes a week later). The COSMOS app – at least for me – appears to redirect you to a FOX network app to watch episodes online. That likely means that the online experience will be tightly coupled with the broadcast television roll-out of the show. As always, check those local listings.
(Note: For those still parsing the inclusion of Giordano Bruno in the first episode, Nick Sagan, son of Carl Sagan, has some thoughts on Bruno on the COSMOS app that don’t appear anywhere else – as far as I can tell.)
It’s a repeat heavy week. Some shows are taking the whole week off, and the CBS programs are in repeats on Thursday and Friday due to the college basketball tournament. Repeats of note are Simon Helberg’s recent appearance on The Late Show (Monday), and Neil deGrasse Tyson with Stephen Colbert (Tuesday). While COSMOS Executive Producer Seth MacFarlane’s recent appearance on The Daily Show runs again this week, the interview focused on another project he’s involved with.
New programs this week, understandably, are sparse. The Talk‘s technology correspondent, Chi-Lan Lieu, appeared on today’s program. And there’s an animal segment scheduled for Friday’s Tonight Show. You know it’s slim pickings if I mention an animal segment.
I’ll close with this extra content. As he sometimes does with Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert, Neil deGrasse Tyson participated in a comedy bit when he appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers last Friday. Meyers invited a special guest to try and find peace between the guest and Tyson. See for yourself.
