Higgs Boson Documentary Slated For Wide(r) Release In March

Particle Fever is a documentary that follows the experimental efforts to discover the Higgs Boson – efforts that led to the awarding of the 2013 Nobel in Physics to the men who proposed the particle in the first place.  Already released, the film grabbed a distribution deal in part due to positive reviews.  Since the distribution deal coincided with the Nobel Prize announcement, there may be new footage added by the time the film premieres in New York next March.

The director and one of the film’s producers bring backgrounds in physics to the film, and that producer also has experience in television science programs.  The scale of the Large Hadron Collider will definitely be a part of the film, and I’ll have my fingers crossed that the LHC rap, or the visit from John Oliver of The Daily Show, makes a cameo.
