You Don’t Drop “Darwin’s Acid,” “Darwin’s Acid” Drops You!

Baba Brinkman released the eighth video from the Wellcome Trust supported U.K. DVD project for his Rap Guide to Evolution (am I going to need a multi-region player when the DVD is ready?).  Both the rap and the video are arguably the most philosophical of the collection, attempting to engage with the implications of Darwin’s work for meaning in an individual life.  As with the other tracks, the video is available online.

And if you’re not interested in the hard-truth meaning behind the title, just listen to the music and lose yourself in the animation to engage with a different notion of Darwin’s Acid.  For some reason this is the first time I’ve felt the same kind of vibe off of Darwin as I usually do from late-in-life Einstein – just a bit of a genial goofball.  Go figure.

Meanwhile, Brinkman continues to tour the U.S., primarily for Rap Guide to Evolution  Check his website and the usual social media outlets for updates.
