Baba Brinkman’s latest effort, The Infomatic EP, was released earlier this week. You can get it online at a pay your own price arrangement. The five tracks come from Brinkman’s time in residence at the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis.
It’s not obvious to me on first listen that the EP has a particular theme, though the tracks are all focused on science and knowledge. It’s arguably more confrontational that some of his other science work. For instance, the first track, Mr. Infomatic, might start a hip-hop war with nerdcore artists, as Brinkman calls them out for being too focused on video games. A rap feud over who drops the most knowledge? I’d love to see it.
