Twain Had It Right: Lies, Damned Lies, and [News] Statistics

From Ph.D. Comics (via Bioephemera), a concise explanation of why statistics reported on most news outlets barely tell us anything, much less what the news outlets claim they do.  This phenomena shows no particular preference amongst news outlets, though I see it more on television and online than in print.
